Stellan Skarsgård (born 13 July 1951 in Göteborg) is a swedish actor. He belong to the swedish actorfamily Skarsgård.
He became famous in the 1960s in the television series Bombi Bitt och jag. From 1972 to 1988 he worked at the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm until he was cast in international productions at the end of the 1980s. Among other things, he played the role of Captain Tupolev in The Hunt for Red October and the role of Professor Lambeau in Good Will Hunting. He was also shortlisted for the title role in Schindler's List, which ultimately went to Liam Neeson. In 2010, Skarsgård received the 10,000 euro Die Europa acting award from the Braunschweig International Film Festival.
Skarsgård was married to My Sonja Marie Agnes from 1975 to 2007 and with her they have six children, five sons and one daughter, including the actors Alexander (* 1976), Gustaf (* 1980), Sam (* 1982), Bill (* 1990) and Valter Skarsgård (* 1995). His daughter is the model Eija Skarsgård. Since 2009 he has been married to Megan Everett, with whom he has two sons, including Ossian Skarsgård (* 2009), who is also an actor.
Skarsgård's standard German speaker from 2004 to 2021 was Detlef Bierstedt, who had previously voiced him in Lars von Trier's 1996 film Breaking the Waves. Bierstedt's successor the following year was Douglas Welbat, who occasionally acted as his dubbing voice between 2010 and 2019. Between 2005 and 2014 he was also dubbed several times by Roland Hemmo. In Return to Montauk he was dubbed by Christian Berkel.
