Pepper is a bartender on the island of Kalokairi in the musical Mamma Mia! and in the feature film of the same name. Pepper is the best friend of Eddie and is close friends with Sky Rymand, Sophie Sheridan's fiancé. He is, and serves as general help for Donna, although she considers him "generally no help at all".
Biography[]
Mamma Mia! (Musical and Film)[]
When Rosie Mulligan and Tanya Chesham-Leigh arrive on the island, Pepper introduces himself to the pair. This is the first time that we see Pepper. Eddie makes fun of Pepper in front of Tanya for not being able to speak Greek properly, while pretending to speak French himself. He and Pepper run out to take their bags after Donna reminds them to do their job.
*Pepper introducing himself to Rosie and Tanya, Pepper trying to speak Greek, Eddie teasing him and pretending to speak French, and Pepper and Eddie taking their bags by order of Donna only appears in the musical, not the film.*
The day before the wedding, he and the other guys take Sky scuba diving, to the old shipwreck, in search of an infamous pearl necklace that belonged to Helen of Troy. Pepper teases Sophie by saying 'Why don't you marry the first guy that comes along?' The group later crashes Sophie's bachelorette party.
*The guys taking Sky SCUBA diving and Pepper teasing Sophie only occurs in the musical, not the film.*
On the night of the bachelorette party, Pepper gets drunk with Eddie and Sky and they find Sam Carmichael's bagpipes. The next morning, the three drunkenly sing and play Voulez-Vous on Sam's bagpipes until Donna catches them, telling Sky to take a shower, Pepper to clean up, and sends Eddie to distract tourists with more fake necklaces. Also that night, Pepper has a one-night stand with Donna's friend, Tanya, and the next day, on the beach, he tries to pursue her further, but she rebuffs him, much to the amusement of Eddie, Ali, and Lisa. This scene on the beach is where the Does your mother know? dance occurs in Mamma Mia! , which is Pepper's main scene in the musical and film.
At the end of Mamma Mia!, Pepper serves as best man and Sky and Sophie's wedding. He sits beside Eddie.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again[]
Pepper does not make an appearance in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. His fate after the Mamma Mia! musical and film is unknown.
