Donny Sheridan-Rymand is a minor character in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. He is the infant son of Sophie Sheridan-Rymand and Sky Rymand, the grandson of Donna Sheridan-Carmichael, step-grandson of Sam Carmichael, and great-grandson of Ruby Sheridan. He is born sometime towards the end of the film, about 9 months after the wedding of his parents.
He is the possible biological great-grandson of Fernando Cienfuegos, and the possible biological grandson of either Sam Carmichael, Harry Bright or Bill Anderson. However he will likely be raised to see them all as his grandfathers just like Sophie views all three as her fathers.
Harry mentions Donny's ears resemble his.
Donny is called after Donna Sheridan-Carmichael, his grandmother. Donny is the male version of the name Donna. Unlike what is traditional in Western Culture, Donny has his mother’s maiden name as his first surname, it is hyphenated with his father’s surname. He shares his surname with his mother, Sophie and the first of his two surnames with his grandmother and great-grandmother.
